We all know that both Ethan Evans and Liam McKenna qualified to play in the Finals of the County Academy Par 3 Junior Golf Tour. This was held on May 7th at Nailcote Hall in Warwickshire, which is the home of The British Par 3 Championship.
The weather on the day was absolutely foul. Not only was it very cold but, raining as well.
So I am very pleased to report that Liam came 9th in his division (for those with CONGU handicaps) and Ethan picked up the medal for the better back 9 in his division, which is for the 9 year olds and under.

Congratulations to new Junior member Liam McKenna on having a course review published in Golf Monthly!
When Liam wrote the review he wasn't a member of the club but had been having coaching with our Head Pro Jon Watts. Liam is a member of the County Golf Academy Squad and Jon is his County Academy Coach. However, he and dad Jim were so impressed that Liam applied for membership and is now a junior member.

Golfers who are under the age of 19 and who possess a single-figure handicap were invited by the Staffordshire Schools Golf Association to attend their trials. This is to select five boys and three girls to play for The Midland Schools Event to be held at Matlock Golf Club on June 8th. The qualifiers are those juniors with the best gross scores. The best gross scores on the day ranged from 68 to 74.
Three junior members from Brocton Hall took part.
