Congratulations to Jodie Flowers who picked up the award for the most improved golfer in the Ladies Section of Brocton Hall for 2013! This is presented to the golfer who has lowered their handicap the most during the playing season.
Jodie received her award at the Ladies Prize Presentation Evening last Friday. The announcement was accompanied with great applause and cheers from all the ladies.
Wow! 27 juniors competed in the above, absolutely great. It certainly kept everyone very busy. The conditions on the whole were quite difficult but, even so, we still had some very good scores.
Those in Division A played a medal round, with Holly just winning on the better back 9 from Sam. Well done both for playing to handicap. Just like to mention a new member David Edge, who played in his first competition. Another card for handicap David, keep going.
Academies are split into two levels, the Futures Squads, which is for the more experienced junior who is looking towards recognition for County Golf and the Development Squads, which are mainly for the younger, less experienced golfer.
I realize that this news is slightly delayed but, that should not stop congratulations being given to the following junior members who are on the Staffordshire County Golf Partnership Academy programme.
Every year Brocton Ladies Section hosts a match against the County Junior Girls which took place a couple of weeks ago. This year the County Ladies Junior Organiser decided to give the experience to some of the younger girls. The match was played as a four-ball better ball.
We were delighted therefore to see Hannah Golding arrive in County Colours. It is a great honour that one so young, Hannah is just 10 years old, was recognized by the County. Just as a reminder, Hannah also holds a CONGU handicap of 33.
