Report on The Bryan Baker Trophy

We had a fairly small field today, mainly due to holidays and County commitments but, the quality of golf being played was excellent.

The first two places in the CONGU Division A went to golfers who not only played below the CSS but also had a reduction in handicap. Great going girls. The CSS was 70/71 and Congratulations go to Ellie for winning The Bryan Baker Trophy.

1st        Ellie Treadwell               Nett 67  Reducing her Handicap by 0.6 dropping her to 8.2 - Super

2nd       Hannah Golding            Nett 69  Reducing her handicap by 0.1 back to 2.1. Extremely consistent Madame Captain.

Div. B - 18-hole Stableford

1st        Jay Atkin                      39 points

2nd       David Haenelt               34 points

3rd       Kerr Dollochin               33 points

It would seem that Jay, in only his third competition, is getting used to the Course! He has been rewarded by a cut in his handicap of 2 shots down to 38. Well done Jay. Good scoring generally in Division B. Keep going guys.

9-Hole Stableford

Now for some reason, which I can’t quite fathom, the 9-hole handicappers didn’t fare quite so well today, which is unusual. Richard winning by just one point from Freddie.

1st        Richard Haenelt                         11 points

2nd       Freddie Booth                           10 points

My thanks as usual to John Perkin for guarding the 1st & 10th tees and very special thanks to Junior Maria -Tiffany Thompson, who wasn’t playing today, but who looked after two of our juniors who have club handicaps. You are a star Maria.  Also to On-Course helpers Gordon Booth; Nicki Bowen and Kate Farrow (Mum of Joe McCandless).
