Brocton Hall

Junior,Adult 9-hole competition

It was really good to see juniors and adults playing together as a Team. We had ten pairs taking part in this Greensome Stableford Competition. There were Prize Vouchers for 1st & 2nd in both Division A, juniors with CONGU handicaps and Division B, for juniors with Club Handicaps. The field was evenly split with five pairs in both divisions.

In addition, all juniors and adults who were in the clubhouse afterwards received a golf ball.

As you would expect, there were some great scores posted, especially in Division B. Junior names are shown first in the report below and voucher prizes were presented to the junior in each pair.

Division A winners with 23 points were Alfie White and Steph Burgin, with Alfie getting a £15 voucher. In second place were Alfie and Andy Poole with 16 points. Alfie gets a £10 voucher. Now you may think there is a great discrepancy between the points at this stage, however, when I tell you that Tom & Paul Andrews got 15 points and Maria & Colin Thompson 14, then you will see how much Alfie (White) benefitted from playing with Steph. It was great to welcome as a playing visitor David Sutton (dad of Paul and grandad to James and Harry), who was for many years a member at Brocton. Quality time with family then Dave?

In Division B the winners were Charlie Edensor playing with Grannie Heather (Wooding) with a fabulous score of 26 points, helped I believe by Heather’s 30 foot putt at the 7th (for 4 points). Well done Charlie for putting grannie on the green. Charlie received a voucher for £15. In 2nd, just by one point, with 25 points were Harry & Paul Sutton, with Harry getting a voucher for £10. Well done guys. It was good to see James Haenelt, (long-standing member of Brocton but who hasn’t played much over the last few years. James was Junior Captain in 1994 our Centenary Year) and dad of Richard and David. James played with younger son Richard scoring 20 points, with Daniel Kirsch partnered by Mike Mazzitelli with 19 points and Kade Stewart with grandad Paul Martin scoring 17 points.

Great going everyone, hope you all enjoyed the competition.
