Report on The John Astley Trophy

Wow, I really must Congratulation Oliver Clark for his magnificent score of 45 Stableford points and, therefore, the winner of the John Astley Trophy.

This was a day when most scores were in the high 20s up to 34 points, so I am not sure where Ollie got his extra focus from but, hey – keep it going. If this had been a Medal round he would have scored a Nett 60. No wonder his handicap dropped by -4.2 shots.

It would be remiss if I didn’t mention three other golfers who played in their Buffer Zone, consistency is always the key. These were; Alfie White (Buffer Zone 1shot); David Haenelt and Jay Atkin. Just to think that both David and Jay only moved back to the White Tees a couple of weeks ago. Great going lads.

The CSS were 70/69/71, White/Yellow/Red tees in that order. Results are:-

CONGU handicaps
1st        Oliver Clark                   45 points          Handicap Reduction -4.2 Now playing off 25

2nd       David Haenelt               34

3rd       Alfie White                    34

4th        Jay Atkin                      33

We just had two juniors in our Blue Tee Competition, Elliot Clark and Richard Haenelt. Both played well and had some great shots.

Richard came out the winner with 17 points, with Elliot on 14 points.

Thanks as always to Nicki for being on the Course, for entering the scores and finalizing the competition.
