We have a large ladies section at Brocton Hall. We are relaxed and friendly and offer a wide range of activities run by the ladies and by the club as a whole, both golfing and social. New members are warmly welcomed by our section, and we run a ‘buddy’ system to ease you into golf at Brocton.
Ladies golf competitions are organised both midweek on our ladies mornings and at the weekend in both the Summer and Winter season. Our course is very much playable all year round. We organise 18 hole and 9 hole competitions and cater to a wide variety of ages and abilities. We offer a range of types of competition from stablefords and medals to pairs competitions, team competitions and our challenging ladies club championship.
Most ladies stay after their round of golf for a drink and a bite to eat in our clubhouse and this is a great way to get to know other members. Our clubhouse is relaxed and friendly, but also has great facilities for more formal occasions like our annual ladies presentations. The bar menu is good value and the food excellent.
There are plenty of opportunities to play other courses whilst representing Brocton Hall in friendly and more serious matches. We run a number of teams so all ladies of any standard get the opportunity to experience competition with other clubs.
We are a family friendly club and there are mixed competitions, family competitions and multi tee competitions open to all members. The club runs Tuesday Social competitions over 9 holes, held on summer evenings and open to all players, old and young, which are a great way to meet other members. For those golfers with young children or grandchildren we have a thriving junior section with many junior competitions, and junior tees for younger players to start on.
Our course has been measured for ladies from three different tees and over 9 and 18 holes, giving a wide variety of options to enter qualifying cards for ladies of all abilities. Most ladies competitions are run multi-tee, offering ladies a choice of which tee they would like to play from. The course ratings for ladies are as follows:
· Red: 70 par, 71.1 rating, 129 slope, 5,322 yds
· Yellow: 73 par, 73.9 rating, 133 slope, 5750 yds
· Orange (Championship): 73 par, 75.3, 134 slope, 6,000 yds
The course is set in a stunning parkland which has magnificent views across Staffordshire and Cannock Chase, an Area of Outstanding Beauty. The mature trees and attractive water features combine to provide a searching test of golf. This course, designed by Harry Vardon in 1923, will challenge most golfers but has that something that allows all abilities to have a wonderful experience. During your game you will see an abundance of wildlife from birds to deer. We are situated close to Stafford and also easily accessible from Cannock, Rugeley, Penkridge and surrounding areas.
Our Pro Shop has a wide range of golfing equipment and clothes that will meet your personal requirements. The Pro Shop offers advice and bespoke coaching both on an individual and group basis, and is also a nation-leading club fitting service.
