The 2017 junior presentation dinner took place on Sunday 7th January 2018 to highlight the success of the Brocton Junior Section during the 2017 season.
90 people attended the meal followed by the now normal golf quiz which was run by Nevil with, as usual, some obscure or not obvious answers (that was true of our table anyway). Nevil then invited all juniors to go over to his new upstairs facility where they ran a chipping competition with loud music and flashing lights in the background. A big thank you to Nevil and Katy for entertaining the juniors on the night.
A review followed of the 2017 Junior section and the season highlights which were Owen Mills winning the Brocton Junior Open shooting a Nett 60 to win, Ethan Evans winning a Staffordshire Boys Nett competition and reaching the final of the Staffordshire Order of Merit, Ellie Treadwell winning the Staffordshire Order of Merit best nett score on the finals day and Hannah Golding playing in the Bridgestone Chase Your Dream representing Brocton Ladies and getting to play with Nicolas Colsaerts in the British Open Pro Am and being interviewed on the TV on Sky Sports.
The presentation then took place of all trophies won during the 2017 season; the trophies were presented by the Lady Captain, Anne Rees and the Captain, Roger Howarth. In addition Hannah Golding received a medal representing her success in the Bridgestone Chase your Dreams tournament. Ellie Treadwell was also presented with the Ladies Most Improved player trophy. Ethan Evans was then presented with the Junior Club Championship trophy and he made a speech thanking everyone for their work and support during the 2017 season.
Marcus Smith, the 2017 Junior Captain, made a speech detailing his year of office and handed over the Junior Captain role to Ellie Ashley-Brown, the 2018 Junior Captain. Ellie then spoke about her task ahead and introduced her Vice- Captain for 2018, Hannah Golding. We all wish Ellie and Hannah good luck in their new roles for 2018.
The Junior Section at Brocton Hall continues to thrive due to the hard work of the organising committee and all the parents and members who help in many ways during the year. The success is down to everyone who contributes for which we all give a big thank you.
The Junior Committee wish everyone a very successful and happy 2018 .A list of all winners for 2017 will be posted on the Junior Notice board.
