As from 6.00AM on Thursday 10th May the Winter Preferred Lies rule will be removed.
In addition at the same time the local rule introduced reference the 9th green modifications will be removed and we will revert to the normal rules of golf.
The turf around the new work on the 9th green still shows signs of the GUR white lines , please now ignore these they are no longer in play. in addition the dropping zone at the front of the green is no longer in play.
N.B. Local rule No 2 - Water Hazards still applies.
You will note that the majority of the work on the 9th green is now complete. The new path area at the green side is deemed in the hazard designated by yellow stakes and lines. The path leading down to the stream is subject to the normal rules of golf ( N.B. the rubber matting part of the path in this area is deemed an immovable obstruction)
Please use the new path onto the green if you are walking, using a trolly or uncovered buggy, if your ball comes to rest on the 10th fairway side of the stream please use the new path to the green side then walk over one of the sleeper bridges at the front or rear of the green to play your shot. If you are in a covered buggy then you must not use the new bridge and pathway, please use the bridge to the right hand side over the Ha-Ha (avoiding the Juniors Tee Area) and drive to the rear of the 9th green, you can then walk to your ball.
We will, in the near future, be removing the steps to the right hand side of the 9th green.
I would just like to say a big thank you to Andy Fellows and all his team for the very professional job that they have carried out. Not only have they made this a safer enviroment I believe that it is an improvement to the hole aesthetically and am expecting to see an improvement in the drainage of the surrounding areas in the future.
