Brocton Hall Men win first match of the year

Congratulations go to Brocton Hall Men's Team who played in their first match of the 2019 season on Saturday 13th April against Leek Golf Club and came out victorious, winning 9 games to 3.

Leading from the front, the Captain and Professional demonstrated what a difficult job those who have qualified in the Capt/Pro competition are going to have, by defeating Leek's Captain and Pro 3&1. A fantastic performance also by the deadly pair of Dillworth/Smith got the team over the line, a match in which Mick Dilworth claimed no less than 5 birdies and supported by some great flag holding by Steve Smith!! Unfortunately, this is only the first leg, so there is still work to do when the Team take their 9-3 lead back up to Leek in August for the return leg.

The team also looked very smart, with many of them wearing their new grey Footjoy golf shirts celebrating 125 years of Brocton Hall Golf Club. If you have not got yours yet (and they are not just for the matches) then according to Match Secretary Mark Newman, they are still available in the Professional Shop in small, medium, large, X Large and Captain Size!
