We had 15 juniors playing across the three Divisions in this May Bank Holiday week and what lovely weather we had for it. The average scoring across Division A (CONGU handicaps) was such that the CSS dropped to 69/70.
There were however, no reductions in handicaps. I am delighted that Max, whose handicap is 28, is playing in the Men’s competitions and is enjoying his golf. Lovely to see Max. It was good to see Alice playing nicely again and the return of Harvey Hall to junior competitions. The top five scores are:
|1st||Max Hunter||Nett 70|
|2nd||James Sutton||Nett 72|
|3rd||Harvey Hall||Nett 72|
|4th||Alice Higginson||Nett 74 bb9 from|
|5th||Alfie Poole||Nett 74|
In Division B Charley, playing from his new handicap again came out winner, this time with 36 points, helped by a gross 4 on the 2nd hole. How good is that?
|1st||Charley Mears||36 points|
|2nd||David Haenelt||32 points|
As in our last competition Richard won again. This time with 20 points which earned him a one shot reduction in handicap, down to 20. Congratulations Richard. Also to Oliver who is still learning the Course. I feel fairly sure that it won’t be long before Oliver gets his handicap down.
|1st||Richard Haenelt||20 points|
|2nd||Oliver Nichols||15 points|
As usual John Perkin saw the juniors off the 1st tee. You are a star John. Thanks of course to our On-Course helpers, Mary Robertson, Sarah Haenelt, Phyl Broome and Paul Sutton, together with his young son Harry. Hope you enjoyed it Harry. Thanks to Nicki Bowen for again entering the scores and for finalizing the competition.
