In spite of the fact that we had four juniors who had to pull out of this competition we still had 16 juniors taking part across the three Divisions. The average scoring across Division A (CONGU handicaps) yet again was such that the CSS dropped to 69/70.
In fact the top six players all shot below par resulting, I am delighted to say, with handicap reductions – yippee. The top six scores are:-
1st Cameron Efford Nett 64 - playing handicap reduction down 2 to 25
2nd Alice Higginson Nett 65 - playing handicap reduction down 2 to 25
3rd Ellie Ashley-Brown Nett 67 - playing handicap reduction down 2 to 33
4th Maria-Tiffany Thompson Nett 68
5th Ellie Treadwell Nett 69 bb9 from
6th Hannah Golding Nett 69
Brilliant going everyone.
Division B scores were not quite so good but Charley won for the second consecutive competition. Well done Charley and all who played.
1st Charley Mears 29 points on a BB9 from
2nd Kerr Dollochin 29 points
3rd David Haenelt 26 points
Wow – what fabulous scoring from our two competitors, who both scored 22 points (yes, over 9-holes). Both had brilliant 3s on the 9th. This will, of course, result in both having a handicap reduction of 2 shots (quite generous of me not to make it more I think?). Richard down to 16 and Oliver down to 25. Keep it going guys you are a credit to the Junior Section. I have decided to award a joint first place.
Joint 1st Richard Haenelt & Oliver Nichols with 22 points
Thanks as usual to our starter John Perkin and On-Course helper Jenny Bulman (I think I was there somewhere as well). Additional thanks to Nicki Bowen for again entering the scores and for finalizing the competition as stalwart as ever.
