We had 16 juniors taking part today and this is the only Junior Qualifying Competition where those with a CONGU handicap play a Stableford - sometimes they even remember!
The CSS for today was 69/70. Div. A first three:-
1st Ellie Ashley-Brown 38 points
2nd Ellie Treadwell 37 points
3rd Cameron Efford 36 points.
This means that Ellie A-B has yet another playing handicap reduction down to 23. Keep it going Ellie.
Div. B - 18-hole Stableford
1st David Haenelt 43 points
2nd Charley Mears 28 points
If you recall in last Friday’s competition David scored an amazing 45 points and his handicap was cut by 4 shots. Well, as you can see that didn’t worry him one little bit. The good news is that he has yet another handicap reduction, this time by a further 3 shots down to 27. You are definitely on target for a move back to the Yellow/White Tees David.
1st Jay Atkin 32 points
2nd Harry Sutton 20 points
I do so love doing the next bit. Jay has now been cut to 20 (for a 9-hole handicap). However, having spoken with him afterwards we have agreed that he should now play 18 holes from the Blue Tees and start with an 18-hole handicap of 42. Congratulations Jay.
Harry has been cut a further shot down to 21. Good going Harry. I must include our other two 9-hole juniors, Richard Haenelt and Oliver Nicholls who both scored well into double figures. Well done guys.
Welcome back to John Perkin who started the juniors off the 1st tee and guarded the 10th tee as well. Thanks to our helpers for 18-holes, Diane Ferriday and Jo Mears and to our 9-hole helpers, Nicki Bowen and Paul Sutton. Nicki as usual also checked the cards and finalised the competition.
