Brocton Hall

Welcome

Brocton – A Modern Club with Traditional Values

Brocton Hall Golf Club was founded in 1894; the course was designed by the renowned Harry Vardon and its layout remains largely as he planned it. It lies on the edge of Cannock Chase, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Do not be surprised to see deer peeping out from between the mature trees and an abundance of other wildlife making an appearance at the edges of the fairways. The Club House is an elegant Grade II listed building which houses the changing rooms, bars and dining room.

The course is expertly managed throughout the year and provides challenges for all golfers, regardless of their ability.

Etiquette

At Brocton we aim to create a comfortable and safe environment on the course which enables our members to enjoy an excellent golfing experience. Thus, in common with all golf courses, we adhere to a code of conduct to ensure that the condition of the course is maintained and that all members feel valued and respected. Hence, we ask that members treat each other with courtesy and respect the practices which maintain the integrity of the course e.g., repairing pitch marks, raking bunkers.

Pace of play is very important. Be aware of your own speed of play and if, for any reason, you are playing slowly, allow those behind you to play through.

All golfers are expected to wear recognised golf attire on the course. Smart casual wear is worn in the Club House. Clean golf shoes with soft spikes are allowed only in the 1894 Bar. On some organised social occasions more formal wear is requested. Please read the full dress code here

Please note that there is a No Smoking policy in the Club House. Whilst on the course, we ask that mobile phones are switched to silent mode

Most golf etiquette is a matter of common sense and courtesy. Do not hesitate to seek clarification if required.

Golfing Practicalities

The ig app is an invaluable tool for the golfer; it enables you to book tee times, enter competitions, top up your bar card, keep up to date with news and much more.

Using ig - To log in to the secure members area you will need your user ID which is the number printed on your bar card and your PIN which will be set by default to the day and month of your birthday ddmm. For help on downloading and installing ig, please visit www.intelligentgolf.co.uk/igmember_app_help

Competitions – we have a full programme of competitions for men, women, juniors and fun mixed competitions. These are open to all members with a WHI (handicap). Details of competitions can also be found on the Club website www.broctonhall.com.

Handicaps – for those new to golf who wish to play in competitions, obtaining a handicap will be necessary. This is achieved by completing 54 holes of golf with cards marked by players who hold a handicap. These cards must represent 3 complete rounds of golf and be submitted to the Handicap Secretary of your Section. Cards can be handed in at the Pro Shop.

Your Proposer/Seconder/Buddy will help you to arrange this. For experienced golfers, the information provided on the application form will be passed to the Match and Handicap Secretary.

Tee Times –these can be booked using the ig app or by calling the Pro Shop. It is perfectly acceptable to add your name to a tee time if there is a space available. It is also a very good way to meet other members.

Club Information is available on the ig app and the Club Website. Emails with specific information are sent out by the Management Committee.
